We are looking into the following central idea in P1: “In a workplace people share responsibility towards a common purpose.” We have been talking about our school as a workplace and the many people working at ISM. After a walk around campus we made a long list of people we saw working and the jobs they do. While making our list we realized we didn’t know very much about all the roles and responsibilites people have nor what exactly they do. We thought about how we could learn more and decided to take one student's suggestion of, “… we could just ask them.”

Students came up with a list of questions they wanted to find answers to and discussed sensible ways to ask questions. Students then went in pairs to 8 different people working at our school and for a half hour had the opportunity to ask questions and help teachers, administrators and our ISM cooks with some of their responsibilities.
